Mrs. Lawrence’s presentation, Risk Management: The Challenges of Complex Health and Social Needs Patients, will highlight challenges routinely faced by high-need complex patients, which are five percent of the U.S. population and account for 50 percent of U.S. healthcare spending. The presentation will:
- Outline why health systems need to invest in redesigning care for people with complex needs;
- Provide a description of the people with complex needs;
- Highlight promising care models for people with complex needs; and,
- Outline key elements to redesigning care for managing the risk of patients with complex needs.

She enjoys consulting with and educating healthcare organizations and providers on the trends, required analytical tools, and organizational structure to be successful in the P4P, value-based purchasing environment or clinically integrated networks. A sought-after speaker and trainer, she routinely speaks on a variety of topics including: behavioral health integration, patient-centered medical home transformation, population health management, chronic care management, and the new Quality Payment Program. She currently serves as the communication chairperson for the Executive Healthcare Network of Dallas-Fort Worth, the largest healthcare networking group in North Texas.
She received her Master of Science in public relations from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Bachelor of Science in education from Mississippi University for Women.
