AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC®)

This course prepares students to take the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification examination. (12 weeks).

  • Learn to review medical records and apply appropriate CPT and ICD-10-CM codes to qualify claims for reimbursement.
  • Participate in an interactive course that incorporates basic medical coding principles with hands-on examples.
  • Understand principles of medical coding related to coding manuals: CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II.
  • Prepare to successfully pass the AAPC’s national CPC certification examination.

AAPC Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA®)

This course prepares students to take the AAPC® Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA®) certification examination. 12 (weeks).

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of medical documentation, fraud, abuse and penalties for documentation and coding violations based on governmental guidelines
  • Learn coding concepts, scope and statistical sampling methodologies, medical record auditing skills, quality assurance and coding risk analysis, and how to communicate findings
  • Participate in an interactive course that incorporates basic medical coding principles with hands-on examples.
  • Prepare to successfully pass the AAPC’s national CPMA certification examination.
